Special Events

Here are some examples of the types of events we host each year.

For this year’s specific dates, times, and locations, please visit our calendar page, or check out our Facebook events.

Caseworker Appreciation Events

Every March our area CPS offices are treated to a week of snacks, food, drinks, prizes, massages and more as a way to show our appreciation for the work they do in our community. This week has become a highlight of our year as we seek to build relationships and link arms with these men in women in our community on the front lines of the foster care system.

Christmas in July

Christmas in July is a month-long awareness and fundraising project designed to help meet the needs of children in foster care in Bell County. Local businesses and churches have the opportunity to partner with us by setting up a Christmas tree in their building for the month of July. All they need to provide is the tree! We provide the decorations, decorators and signage. It's really that easy.

Once the trees are set up, visitors can take a donation ornament card which lists instructions on how to make a tax deductible donation. All funds raised will stay in our community to help those in the child welfare system.

Let us know if you would like to host a tree!

(We could tell them to sign up now for next year. We already have a list going of those that would like to participate for 2020.)

Foster Care Interest Meetings

For those wanting to take the next step in becoming licensed to do foster care, we host quarterly interest meetings. These meetings are a great chance to find out about the different child placing agencies (CPAs) in our county, as well as ask questions about the process.

Miss out on our last meeting and don't want to wait until the next one? Take a look at some great Next Steps to take in your foster/adoption journey, or contact us with questions!

Foster Fest (April)

Foster Fest is a fun, free event for Bell County foster and kinship families that we host in April of each year. It’s an effort for them to feel loved, supported and it’s an opportunity for them to get to know one another, as well as learn about local resources that could benefit the children in their care.

Foster and kinship families, we hope to see you for a fun-filled morning of food, games, crafts, free haircuts, prizes and more! For location info, contact your CPA, caseworker, or contact us!

More info can also be found through your Child Placing Agency.

Speaking Events

We would love to come speak to your church/business/organization! Reach out to us using our contact form, and we can work out the details together.

Training Sessions and Workshops

A vital part of what FLBC seeks to do is strengthen foster, kinship, caseworkers, CASAs and other professionals that come in contact with foster children. We do this through providing varying workshops on topics that help empower you with the tools needed to build connections, navigate trauma, learn about benefits you are entitled to receive, and many other helpful topics.
